Culver Student Wins Writing Competition

Three eighth graders from Culver School participated in the Young Women’s Writing Festival on October 20, with one of the Culver students taking first place. The event was part of a "National Day on Writing" hosted by Resurrection College Prep High School in Chicago.

Thirty-eight middle school students from Chicago and nearby suburbs took part in the contest, which was designed to foster interest in creative writing. The students received a writing prompt and a photograph, and then had 40 minutes to write an original narrative essay.

Congratulations to Elena and Emily for their outstanding narrative writing under pressure — and to Sydney, who took first place!
