Culver Update - 3/20/20

Dear Culver Families ~

We are thinking of our wonderful Culver community at this time and sending healthy thoughts along with this update.

We are receiving lots of questions, and we want to review the latest information regarding the school closing timeframe, e-Learning Program, meal distribution, and contacting staff.

During this unprecedented closure, the District Administrative team continues to meet regularly to develop effective and comprehensive plans for our staff and students.  Given the tremendous amount of information from our federal government, Illinois State Board of Education, and Illinois government, we are working hard to adjust plans, respond appropriately, and ensure we are keeping the best interest of all Culver families in mind.

School Closing Timeframe

On Friday, March 20, Governor Pritzker declared that all schools in Illinois will be closed through Tuesday, April 7. The projected date of return may change as further guidelines are communicated by health and government officials.

e-Learning Lessons

We will not post e-Learning activities during spring break, March 23-27.

We will resume our e-Learning program on Monday, March 30.  Following our regular school calendar, we will continue to post e-Learning lessons until school reopens.  During e-Learning weeks, please complete the Parent Survey each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This survey allows us to remain connected, provides valuable feedback on participation, and it can help us plan future e-Learning activities.

The e-Learning activities will continue to be posted on our webpage at:

Communication

We will continue to share detailed information with all District families weekly. Please look for communication from us every Friday unless there is a significant change that would require more immediate contact.

Our building is closed in order to keep all faculty and staff safe. We are not able to respond to phone messages. Please email us with any needs or questions. Teachers will not be responding to emails during spring break.

Meal Program

Beginning next week, we will move to a once per week (instead of daily) meal distribution program.  Culver will distribute a bag of five lunch and five breakfast meals for the entire week on Monday, March 23, from 12:30-1:30. The bags will be quite heavy, as they contain lots of food. Please note - some items are perishable. You should be prepared to refrigerate or freeze items. Cooking instructions are included on packaged items that should be served warm.

Stay safe and healthy,

Culver Administration Team
