Culver to host free COVID-19 vaccine clinic May 20 for those 12 and older

Individuals age 12 and older will be able to receive free coronavirus vaccines from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at Culver School. Chicago-based Northshore Clinical Labs will administer the Pfizer-BioNTech (2-dose) vaccines.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently authorized the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for adolescents 12- to 15-years-old. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A second shot will be made available at Culver from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 10.

Those interested in receiving the shots must register online at this location.

“We encourage all of you to discuss the vaccine with your health care provider and take advantage of this convenient opportunity to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine,” said District 71 Supt. John Kosirog.

Vaccinations are administered at no cost and are fully covered through all health insurance providers/plans (no co-payment, no co-insurance, no deductible). Those who are uninsured are eligible for free coverage through a federal program.

Vaccinations will take place in the Culver School gymnasium, with parking available in the school’s west parking lot. For the second shot, school officials will send out information regarding additional logistics before the event.
